Independent cyber security consultancy based in London, working with UK organisations who need security to be both rigorous and realistic.
Orion was founded on a simple idea: that good security work should look like good engineering. Clear scope, honest trade-offs, documented decisions, and outcomes you can hand over to the people who have to live with them.
We are deliberately small. Every client engagement is led by a senior consultant who has actually shipped the kind of work being delivered — whether that means standing up an EDR programme across a 4,000-seat estate, hardening an Azure tenancy ahead of a Cyber Essentials Plus audit, or building a 24/7 monitoring capability for a regulated firm.
Our clients range from independent retailers and law firms to listed groups and public-sector bodies. What they have in common is a need for proportionate, well-evidenced security — not a wall of vendor logos.
What we believe
- Pragmatism over purity. A control that is in place is worth ten that are merely on the roadmap.
- Engineering, not theatre. Tooling is only useful if someone is actually triaging the alerts.
- Hand-over from day one. Documentation, run-books and training are part of the deliverable, not an afterthought.
- Plain English. Boards do not need to learn a new vocabulary to make a good security decision.
